At 10 a.m. on December 10, Beibu Gulf University held the celebration of the 50th Foundation Anniversary in gymnasium.
Leaders, including the Vice Chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Li Changguan, Wang Shuangfei, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Guangxi University, and Zhong Changzi, Secretary of the Qinzhou Municipal CPC, and guests attended the anniversary. More than 5,000 guests from all walks of life, alumni representatives, BGU former leaders and representatives of teachers and students were present.
Li Changguan expressed congratulations to BGU 50th anniversary, reviewed BGU’s historical course, and looked to its bright future development.
Wang Shuangfei hoped that BGU will continue to play its advantages in the characteristics of maritime, application-oriented and international education in the new historical journey.
Zhong Changzi expressed the hope that BGU will take the 50th anniversary as a new starting point to train more socialist builders and successors with all-round development to provide more powerful intellectual support for the economic and social development of Qinzhou, thus promoting the development of Qinzhou and even Guangxi’s maritime economy.
James Smith, Eastern Michigan University President, sent birthday wishes to BGU via video message. He said that EMU and BGU have a deep foundation of cooperation, and the Joint Engineering College approved by the two universities has built a bridge of academic and cultural communication.
